I think I'll chose Daemon from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout! Daemon is a Luxen and has some majorly cool alien powers, such as traveling at the speed of light, shooting beams of light out of his hands, healing, and even the ability to stop time! So cool, right? RIGHT? His a big snot, but I love reading in that world! Also, on a side note, I like the old covers a LOT more than the new ones.

This week's theme is main character is dead/undead.

In this case, the first book series that came to mind is the Soul Screamers by Rachel Vincent! One of the characters, Todd, is a reaper. He collects souls of the dead, and has for the two years since he died. His heart sometimes beats, sometimes it doesn't. He can go corporeal or incorporeal. It's his choice. Todd is an INSANELY funny character that you'll love!

This week's theme is realistic character: best character in a realistic novel.

This is both super easy and super hard. The first character that came to mind is Eleanor from Eleanor & Park. Eleanor, unlike a lot of YA heroins, is not stereotypically beautiful. Eleanor looks like a regular teenage girl. She goes through issues that every teen goes through, as well as some issues that every teen doesn't. This book nearly made me cry and Eleanor is likable, relatable, and very much like a real teen. The other is Echo from Pushing the Limits. Echo is bleeping amazing! Echo, while strong and brave, can also be fragile and weak. It's what makes people human. I love reading from both characters' points of views. Also, I just realized that they're both red-heads...

This week's theme is wild card-just choose a favorite!

I was looking around my room, and realized that my stockpile of favorite characters was starting to run low. But then my eyes landed on a blue, white, and black book on the bottom of my shelf that I read last December. A book no other than The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. Hazel is definitely one of my favorite characters. She is witty, smart, and best of all, real. She really feels like the kind of person that you could just meet on the street. Her story isn't perfect in any way, in fact, there's a high likelihood that she's going to die. But Hazel accepts that, and instead brings humor and love into her life. Besides, Shailene Woodley? Best Hazel EVER!

This week's theme is most loving parents: parents that are actually around/a big part of the story.

Basically, Wendy Higgins is the queen of awesome parents. Both in her Sweet trilogy and in her recent self-published novel See Me, the parents are around, and they rock. So, yes, in Sweet Evil, her dad is a demon (a good demon that loves her though) and her mom is an angel that died in childbirth, but her step-mom ROCKS! Pattie is amazing, and her roll in Sweet Reckoning is a big one. In See Me, while her parents did marry Robyn off to someone, they were honest with her, and they didn't really have a choice in the matter. Throughout the story, Robyn's parents are there for her, and in the climax of the story, her parents play a large roll. I love when there are decent parents in a story, and Wendy Higgins does it beautifully!

This week's theme is still good: character that retains their likability throughout the series.

With many books, the main character is awesome, except for the half of a book where I just want to stab the main character and all her friends. There almost always comes a point, where I can't get over how stupid/weak/annoying the main character is acting. Off the top of my head, the character that really retains their likability the best is Kylie from the Shadow Falls series. I have reread those books so many times, and not once have I wanted to kill her. She does some embarrassing stuff, but that's life. I really like Kylie's character, and can't wait to read the spin-off series!

This week's theme is not so clueless (character who knows about the supernatural before the story starts)

I always really like reading books that are done in this format. It saves the reader that first book of 'what is going on here' and can jump right into the plot. There are many series where this is done well, but my favorite is definitely White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L Armentrout. Right off the bat, the main character knows that she's half demon, half gargoyle. She's known since she was little. She knows what her abilities entail. The book doesn't give a whole lot of detail on the world itself, which is why reading the prequel novella is VERY important. In that book, you really learn what makes up their world.

Okay everyone, I think this one was kinda inevitable. You may not know this, but I am a huge Rick Riordan fan. Specifically, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series! So, this week's pick is Percy Jackson! He is funny, interesting, and an all-around amazing character. Plus, if you add Annabeth into the equation, it just becomes more perfect! If you haven't already, read this series. You won't regret it. Also, the chapter names are hilarious. Examples: I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher, We Get Advice From a Poodle, Demon Pigeons Attack, Clarisse Blows Up Everything, I Go Snowboarding With a Pig, I Have a Dam Problem, I Battle the Cheerleading Squad, I Scoop Poop, I Drive My Dog Into a Tree, and Pigs Fly. Plus, there are the epic first liners. Those are slightly spoilery though, so I won't post them. Basically, Percy is amazing and you should read all about him!

Oh, this one's a toughie! *looks at bookshelves* Got it! I pick Aphrodite from the House of Night series by P.C. and Kristen Cast. In the beginning of the story, Aphrodite is the mean girl to beat all mean girls. She isn't actually all that strong at first, but grows stronger. Over time, the main character, Zoey, realizes that Aphrodite isn't as bad as she once thought. Aphrodite doesn't sugarcoat things, which is very helpful. First, she is an adversary that Zoey feels the need to beat and, eventually, a friend.

This week's theme is character who lives in/goes to another country.

This is one of those categories that YA is certainly lacking. Most books take place within the US, and occasionally the UK. There are a few books that are qualified for this (The Fault in Our Stars, Emblaze by Jessica Shirvington, A Darkness Strange and Lovely) but I feel that two series take the cake. First is the Revenants series with the main character Kate. She grew up in the US, but after her parents died, she and her older sister moved to Paris with their grandparents. In this series, all except for a couple chapters take place in France. The second series is The Lunar Chronicles. The main character Cinder grew up in the Easter Commonwealth, AKA Asia, and Scarlet grew up in France. So far, not a single scene has taken place in the US, which is really cool. In fact, a lot of it takes place in outer space! So, my final answer is Kate from the Revenants series by Amy Plum and Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer!

This week's theme is Farm Girl: Girl or Guy character that lives on a farm at some point...

This one's easy peasy! Cammie Morgan from the Gallhager Girls series by Ally Carter wins this prize! Cammie is anything but normal, what with going to a school for spies and all, but when she's not at school, she lives with her grandparents on their farm. We never actually meet her grandparents, but they are portrayed as loving people who simply don't know about the super-secret spy part of her family's life. Cammie has tons of funny stories to share about when she lives on her grandparents farm. Also, please note that I am in HUGE Ally Carter withdrawal. United We Spy came out in September, and the first Embassy Row book doesn't come out until 2015! *dies* Fun fact: I got to meet Ally Carter and Rachel Hawkins in 2012!
