Top Ten Books I Have Reread

I'm editing this topic. The original was want to reread, but since I reread so much, I decided to make it the ones I've reread the most.

1. Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins - Sweet is simply unputdownable. I have read it more times than I can count, and whenever asked what my favorite book is, Sweet Evil is always the first book that pops to mind.

2. All That Glows by Ryan Graudin - All That Glows is another favorite. It's a tad newer, so I haven't reread it as much, but I fell in love with it immediately, and every time I pick it up, I have to read the whole thing.

3. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead - I first read Vampire Academy a few years ago, and since then, I have fallen in love. While Sydney in the new series is cool, my love will always remain with Rose.

4. Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter - There's a magical quality about Gena's books. Every time I read them, I fall more and more in love.

5. Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry - Pushing the Limits is one of the few contemporaries that I can say with all honesty that I love. It tackles tough subject matter, while still remaining humorous and romantic.

6. White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout - The guy character Roth has a snake tattoo named Bambi that comes alive and eats people. Need I say anything else?

7. Divergent by Veronica Roth - This was pre-Allegiant, no spoilers, but since that book, I haven't been able to look at the series in the same light.

8. Abandon by Meg Cabot - I practically grew up on Meg Cabot (along with Margaret Peterson Haddix and Gale Carson Levine). Once I outgrew her middle grade books, I discovered this series and fell in love!

9. The Distance Between Us by Kasie West - One of the only other contemporaries that I truly enjoyed. This book is fun and romantic and like my favorite paranormals without the supernatural.

10. The Selection by Kiera Cass - A fun book that many people seem to dislike. I really like the main character America, and each time I read it, I see a different side of the story.

Top Ten New Series' I Want to Start

8. Teardrop by Lauren Kate (Teardrop and Waterfall)

9. Not a Drop to Drink by Mindy McGinnis (Not a Drop to Drink and In a Handful of Dust)

10. Elusion by Claudia Gabel and Cheryl Klam (Elusion and Etherworld)

These are, of course, not the only series' I want to start, but these are definitely some of them! What series do you want to start?

Top Ten Places Books Have Made Me Want to Visit

There are so many places to choose from! In no particular order, here are what I've chosen:

1. Europe - Specifically England, Greece, Amsterdam and France. Books that have made me want to go there: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins (France), Die for Me by Amy Plum (France), The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (Amsterdam), Just One Day by Gayle Forman (Paris, Amsterdam, England, etc), All That Glows by Ryan Graudin (England), Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier (England), The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson (England), and Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare (England).

2. Egypt - I am in love with Egypt and have been as long as I can remember, mostly because of my Cleopatra infatuation. Books that have made me want to go there: Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran, The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan, plus all the non-fiction books I read as a child.

3. Narnia - If you don't know about Narnia, I shun you.

4. Erilea - From Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. Erilea is royally messed up right now, but once they sort out their problems, or before they took place, I would LOVE to visit this continent full of magic, faeries, kings, and queens! Within Erilea, I'd love to see Terrasan and Eyllwe! If given the chance, I'd go off continent to Wendlyn too!

5. Olympus - If given the option, who wouldn't?!?! Books that made me want to go there: Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan, The Goddess Test by Aimée Carter, and Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

6. The Gallagher Academy for Exception Young Women - Created by the amazing Ally Carter, the Gallagher Academy seems amazing. *whispers* It teaches girls how to be spies.

7. Shadow Falls Camp - Shadow Falls is full of magical teenagers of various different species. I would most DEFINITELY want to go there!

8. St. Vladimir's Academy - St. Vladimir's Academy isn't always the safest place, but I hear they have world-class food, AND I'd get to meet the infamous Rose Hathaway!

9. New York - So many books take place in New York. I have yet to go there, but am crossing my fingers that I will get to someday! Books that have made me want to go there: Embrace by Jessica Shirvington, Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan, The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, Where She Went by Gayle Forman, and Take a Bow by Elizabeth Eulberg.

10. Ross City, Antarctica - In Ross City, everything is a video game. You get points for doing good things, and lose points for doing bad things. How cool would that be? From Champion by Marie Lu.

Top Ten Character Driven Novels

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! Yes, I acknowledge that this is late.

1. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas - I read this book way back when it came out, and I love it. The characters are majorly important, especially since the main character is fairly unreliable at first.

2. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - Mara is insanely unreliable. She tells the reader that at the very beginning, and I often associate that with character drivenness.

3. All the Truth That's In Me by Julie Berry - This story is very original. The main character doesn't talk, and with so much of it in her head, it really shows a lot of the story through her perceptions of other characters and their actions.

4. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater - Specifically The Dream Thieves. The first two books are major character centered. I've read an ARC of the third one, and it becomes more plot centric, but the first two books are really for getting to know the characters.

5. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell - This story is not plot heavy. It is really about these two teenagers who are slowly falling in love. Also, my mom *might* have made fun of me when I called the book historical fiction. It takes place in the 80s! It takes place before I was born!

6. We Were Liars by e. Lockhart - This book put me through the wringer. I did not see the end coming, but the entire novel is there because of the main character.

7. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith - This takes place, for the most part, over twenty-four hours. Mostly on a plane ride. This is super fun, and romantic in a way that everyone will love.

8. From What I Remember by Stacey Kramer and Valerie Thomas - This book exists because one of the character's laptop's got stolen. If not for that, nothing would have happened, but somehow, all these random high school students ended up in Mexico and hilarity ensued.

9. The Selection by Kiera Cass - This series majorly depends on which girl Prince Maxon chooses, easily making it character driven.

10. Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles - A super fun read that has diverse characters that really push the plot forward.

Top Ten Books That Were Hard for Me to Read

1. The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak - I was worried this book would make me cry, and it did. I read half the book one weekend and half the next because I needed a break in the middle!

2. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick - This book was just plain cringeworthy.

3. The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa - This book took two tries to get through. Not because it was bad, but because it was slow.

4. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson - Another book I put off reading for a long time due to subject matter that I ended up loving!

5. The Giver by Lois Lowry - Everyone will hate me for this, but I hated this book. I had to read it for class and wanted to stab it the entire time. I wrote an entire essay on why Jonas was stupid.

6. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - I did like the book, but do due the fact that it's going on two-hundred years old, the writing style is a little out of date. Also, I read my mom's super old copy that was falling apart...

7. Revealed by P.C. & Kristen Cast - While I love the first half of this series, it's kinda gone downhill. I am excited to read the last book next month, but the last few have been disappointments.

8. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor - I did not finish this book. I was super confused and there were too many characters!

9. 34 Pieces of You by Carmen Rodriguez - This book made me too sad and mad to continue. I can understand some idioticness, but I couldn't stand this.

10. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling - I'm sorry, but not really. I honest to god did not like these books. The only reason I read them was to figure out what happened at the end of book seven, because movie seven part one had come out, but not part two, and I needed to know what happened. I labored over them at some point or another, and finally finished them. I still don't like them.

Ten Authors I've Only Read One Book Buy, But Must Read More Of

I have decided to participate in Top Ten Tuesday. I just couldn't help myself. I love making lists, and this is a fun way of doing it!

1. Laurie Halse Anderson: I've only read her novel Speak, but I MUST read everything else!

2. Ryan Graudin: All That Glows is SO amazing, and I need the author's next book NOW!

3. C. J. Redwine: I really enjoyed Defiance and I must know how the trilogy ends.

4. Jen McConnel: Along with her amazing YA novel, Jen also has a set of eBook-only NA novels that look FANTASTIC!

5. Laini Taylor: I really loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and couldn't really get into the second one, but I am determined to try again!

6. Holly Black: I've read Tithe, and after the wonderfulness that was that book, the others better keep coming!

7. Kelly Hashway: I got Touch of Death on New Year's Eve at 8 o'clock at night, which was pretty fun. I really enjoyed it, but haven't managed to pick up the other two yet.

8. Chloe Jacobs: Greta and the Goblin King was FANTABULOUS! I need Greta and the Glass Kingdom right this very instant!

9. Rosamund Hodge: Cruel Beauty was one of the first few ARCs I got, and I absolutely adored it. I can't wait to read anything else she publishes!

10. Sara Raasch: I got an ARC of Snow Like Ashes this summer and dear god that was amazing!

So basically, I want all the books! *grabby hands*

What are some authors you want to read more of?

Books That NEED More Attention

Yes, I've been making a lot of lists lately, but I'm lazy and it's easier to make lists than to write reviews while I'm adjusting to high school. So there.

Anyways, here's a list of books that I think aren't getting enough attention!

The Archived by Victoria Schwab-After the end of the second book, I need to know what happens next. Currently, there's no info on the third book, except that it *might* happen.

Greta and the Goblin King by Chloe Jacobs-Basically, if it's published by Entangled, you must read it, this one more than most. I mean, come on, there's GOBLINS in it!

The Girl Who Never Was by Skylar Dorset-For all I know, this might be some widely read phenomenon, but I only just heard of it this summer, and it's AMAZING!

Boneseeker by Brynn Chapman-Another publisher you must read everything they publish! Month9Books is not only amazing, but local for me. Boneseeker is perfection in every way imaginable!

Daughter of Chaos by Jen McConnel-I've met Jen on multiple occasions, and she just rocks. Daughter of Chaos combines witches and all the gods, which is insanely cool!

Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran-This book is more adult, but everyone must read it. A fictitious telling of what happened over the five years Cleopatra Selene VIII was in Rome that blows my socks off every time.

Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon-Here's the thing. These books rock. Yet not enough people are reading them, so the third book hasn't been picked up, and I NEED it! So let's gather the troops and do this thing!

Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins-Just read it. Kai is the son of the demon of lust. 'Nuff said.

Vivian Divine is Dead by Lauren Sabel-This is amazing and wonderful and all around perfect. You never know who's evil and who's good or what's going to happen next!
