Top Ten Animals From Books

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and The Artsy Reader Girl. I actually responded to a question on Twitter just a few days ago about good books featuring animals, so this has been on my mind recently!

1. Blueberry from Bloodwitch by Susan Dennard - Blueberry is a giant magical bat protecting a young girl named Owl and I love them both

2. Barf from The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen - Barf is a cat and Barf is amazing

3. Church from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare - Church has appeared in almost every Shadowhunter book so far and I love this immortal cat so much

4. Bambi from White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout - Most of the time Bambi is a tattoo, but sometimes she is a real snake and I love her dearly

5. Fleetfoot from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas - Aelin's dog was the only character guaranteed to survive the series, and for that I am grateful

6. All of Jacob's animals from The Duke Heist by Erica Ridley - Jacob has a full menagerie of animals that he attempts to train to perform various tricks and heists

7. The squirrel from A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall - The squirrel is one of many oddball POVs in this book, and I love it!

8. Chainsaw from The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater - Only a character like Ronan would name his magical pet bird Chainsaw

Honorable Mention: Milo the goat from the Shadow and Bone tv adaption on Netflix! Everyone loves him, and rightfully so!

I know I didn't quite get to ten, but that was all I could remember! I'm sure there are more animals and pets that I loved in books in the moment, but they are escaping my mind right now. Who are some of your favorite animals in books?
