Historical Romance Bracket Challenge: Round of 64 Day Six

So, you might have noticed that I missed yesterday's post. Oops... Life happened, and by the time I realized what time it was, I only had time to get the poll posted. To make up for it, I will catch y'all up on two days of results! And of course, I imagine some of you want to know more about the books going up today.

Current Standings:
In exciting news, we've had our first tie! My One and Only Duke by Grace Burrowes tied with Wilde Child by Eloisa James. For Group 12, The Devil of Downtown by Joanna Shupe knocked out A Duke in Time by Janna MacGregor. In the final match from Day Four, About a Rogue by Caroline Linden triumphed over This Earl of Mine by Kate Bateman. Now to the matches from Day Five. Their love was always in the cards.

He should have thrown her out. But when club owner Alexander Lavoie catches a mysterious blonde counting cards at his vingt-et-un table, he's more intrigued than angry. He has to see more of this beauty—in his club, in his office, in his bed. But first he'll have to devise a proposition she can't turn down.

Gossip said he was an assassin.

Common sense told her to stay away. But Angelique Archer was desperate, and Lavoie's club offered a surefire way to make quick money—until she got caught. Instead of throwing her out though, the devil offers her a deal: come work for him. Refusing him means facing starvation, but with a man so sinfully handsome and fiercely protective, keeping things professional might prove impossible.

A horse race in trousers on Rotten Row. Visiting a gaming hall in a dress that would make her mother faint. Sneaking an invitation to a masquerade ball attended by only the wickedest, most debauched members of society…

None of these things are scaring off bookish but strong-willed Amelia Bishop’s stuffy, egotistical fiancé.

The only thing left is to entice childhood friend Nicholas Wakefield into a truly engagement-ending scandal. The Wakefields are the height of propriety, and Nicholas’s parents have made it clear a wife from the neighboring Bishop family would be unacceptable…

But Nicholas would give up his family and his fortune if Amelia would ever see him as more than just a childhood friend. He’ll go along with her scheme, even if it means ruining them both, because he’s got a plan that will change her mind about him being merely the boy next door.

She may seem as vulnerable as a kitten, but given the chance, she can be as fierce as a tiger. Her adopted brother, Stephen, has just been snatched back by his true father, and she’ll be damned if she relinquishes the boy to the man reviled throughout London as the Mad Marquess.
