February Wrap-Up

Due to the shorter month, I didn't read nearly as much as last month, but I still read a ton! I didn't exactly keep up with my reviews, but I promise to do better!

Rush by Eve Silver

I thought it was going to be some dystopian/sci-fi game like the movie Spy Kids 3. I was not expecting the characters to be pulled through time and space to fight aliens! The book starts off with a bang, with the first major plot point only a few pages into the book.

Double Digit by Annabel Monaghan

I read this book and loved it! I'd read the first book, A Girl Named Digit, ages ago and had hoped for a sequel, but didn't hear anything. Then, right after it was released, I discovered Double Digit! An amazing sequel that I loved to bits!

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi

Ignite Me was amazing! A perfect ending to a perfect series. After months of bad endings, the prospects are starting to look up, which is proven by Ignite Me. The plot is beautiful, the characters done well, and the world magnificent.

Cress by Marissa Meyer

After waiting (im)patiently for this book, I gobbled it up! It grows a little slow in the middle, but even then, the stakes are never lowered and tensions are always running high. Also, characters fight and bad stuff happens, but at least partially due to everything going on, THERE IS NEVER ANY ANGST! I did a happy dance because of that alone!

Black City trilogy by Elizabeth Richards

Okay, so I usually review all the books separately, but I'm lazy and want to just give you a series overview. Anyways! These books were amazing! I got Black City a while ago, but didn't read it until I won an ARC of Wings. I loved it and immediately ordered Phoenix. The problem was, that was set to be delivered at the same time that the snowpocalypse hit, so I had to wait EXTRA long! But do not worry, the series was amazing! There was no SBS, and I loved the final book, which comes out this summer!

The Unbound by Victoria Schwab

A question for myself, why the heck haven't I reviewed this yet? Why, that is a very good question Isabel. My only excuse is laziness, the snowpocalypse, and a crazy amount of school work. Does that work for you? No? Me neither. Why was I just having this argument with myself? Well, because this book ROCKED! I loved The Unbound SO much! The first book was good, but The Unbound blew my expectations out of the water! I loved this book and hope that I take the time to write up a full review soon!

Sweet Reckoning by Wendy Higgins

I thought the first two books in this series were good, but holy bleep, Sweet Reckoning blew the socks off of the first two books! I got the ARC from The Regulator Bookstore Wednesday afternoon and finished it the next morning.

Strange and Ever After by Susan Dennard

Another book I need to write a full review of. Why? For one reason, it's an ARC. And two, I have so many feels! This was one of the many books that has simply broken me! It was an amazing series finale! I'm not a huge historical fiction fan, but I love this book and the series as a whole!

The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E Smith

Okay, what's with me and not reviewing books? I'm a huge fan of Jennifer E Smith, so when I saw that an ARC of her newest book (which comes out in April, I think) was up for grabs, I pounced on it! While this didn't quite live up to her first two books, which are PHENOMENAL, I still loved it!

On The Fence by Kasie West

Let me say this now, I LOVE Kasie West! I got an ARC of this from The Regulator Bookshop, and loved every page of it! It comes out in July and let me tell you, you want a copy! I was even lucky enough to get to meet Kasie on the Lovestruck tour! She is an amazing woman and was a joy to talk to! Keep your eyes peeled for a giveaway for a signed copy of her other novel, Pivot Point!

The Selection Stories by Kiera Cass

The Selection series is definitely a favorite of mine! It was interesting seeing into Aspen's head, even though I kinda hate his character and am crossing my fingers that Kiera kills him off in The One. I've already read the other novella in this, The Prince, but I liked reading the extra chapters. Oh! And I can't forget the sneak peak at The One! I already wanted the book, but now I'm dying for it! I can't wait to read it! Also, I almost kinda hope that America dumps both guys, joins the rebels, kills the king, and saves the world. Then either A) falls in love with a decent rebel or, if all else fails B) gets back together with Prince Maxon.

Vengeance by Megan Miranda

Another author that I had the pleasure of meeting on the Lovestruck tour! I loved Vengeance, quite possibly more so than I liked the first book, Fracture. It's a YA thriller of sorts and I'm glad I wasn't up reading this late into the night. I read few thrillery books (the only other one being Asylum by Madeline Roux), but I loved this! Keep your eyes peeled for a giveaway for a signed copy of Fracture!

Her Dark Curiosity by Megan Shepherd

This book was creepy, interesting, and a whole lot more of creepy. Plus, it takes place (partially) in Victorian London. It's a retelling of a classic story, and the sequel, which came out on Tuesday, is as well! I also got to meet Megan Shepherd, so keep your eyes peeled for a giveaway for signed copy of her debut, The Madman's Daughter!

Soul Betrayed by Katlyn Duncan

What have you done to me woman?!?!?!?! I go a digital ARC of this book from Netgalley. I might or might not have cried at the end. Why?!?!?! Soul Betrayed picked up where Soul Possessed left off, and I absolutely loved it! I read the book in one evening! I highly recommend this engrossing series that will leave you hungering for more!

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L Armentrout

White Hot Kiss was AMAZING! I love all of Jennifer L Armentrout's stuff and have been anxiously awaiting this book since it was announced. There are almost no books out there, especially in YA, that have gargoyles in them, but this book mastered them! It was fast-paced, action-packed, and full of swoony moments. I read this book in twenty four hours flat! This book was one of my favorites to date.

Unfinished Reads

Thankfully, there aren't too many unfinished books this month! The first being Origin by Jessica Khoury. Don't get me wrong, this book is good. Origin really drew me in. Problem was, my friend borrowed the book, it was due at the library, and I just wasn't interested at the time. The second is Shadowfell by Juliet Marillier. I've tried to read this before, but try as I might, I just can't get into it. I got an ARC of the final book in January so I wanted to read the series, but I just can't do it. That said, I'll probably just giveaway the ARC soon, because I know the series is good, just not my cup of tea! The last is Infinite by Jodi Meadows. I'm actually almost done with this one! It's really good, but White Hot Kiss got here and I had to read that first! Infinite is really good and expect a review next month!

Rereads

My only reread this month was Crash Into You by Katie McGarry. That woman is a word goddess or something! I love Crash Into You SOOOOO much and am dying for Take Me On, which comes out in a few months!

Stacking the Shelves

I apologize if I miss a few! I got a lot of books this month!
